about Journey
Our mentoring program known as “JOURNEY” is geared to Support Teenage Mothers and Fathers by providing mentorship through a comprehensive and community-linked school based program. Our target population is grades 8th-12th Grade. Activities will consists of group and individual meetings in their school at an agreed time with each school, outside activities may include providing resources and information to support the client more. Our goal is to educate them on personal, emotional and academic integrity as well as parental support, and post secondary preparation.
How to join program?
This is school based program currently in Akron Public Schools, if you are outside of that district contact us for more information on how to join! If you are in an Akron Public school contact your school counselor or contact us.
How does the program work?
The program last 6 months during the school year runs from Oct 1-April 30 and all participants who complete the program will participate in a graduation ceremony with your immediate support system such as a parent/guardian/ social worker, and receive a $50 dollar gift card.
